Welcome Labbers!
The Xzistor LAB comprises of my home-based robotics laboratory where I do AI projects as a hobby and make videos about my experiments. I share information on my projects on this website and my YouTube Channel. The simple AI platform I have developed is capable of running very complex programs, but easy (and cheap) to build at home. It’s flexibility extends from a simple line-following robot to a robot like Troopy with HD video, WiFi, Bluetooth and running on a remote PC (30 000 lines of Java code!). And it can go way beyond that as the artificial brain model I have developed – called the Xzistor Concept – is fully scaleable based on processor speed and memory. The model also is eminently suitable for neural network applications as it is, well…directly derived from the parallel processing brain…just rolled out into a set of serial logic algorithms. Here you can read more about my Brain Modelling.
Although I use my Xzistor Concept brain model for my AI projects, this home platform can accommodate any Java program. If you have worked in another programming language (C++ in my case!), I can assure you transitioning to Java is not difficult. There are masses of free tutorials and example code available on the web.
Instructions on how to built the Robot, the ‘Learning Confine’ and the programming environment on the PC (this is the area where you would write your actual code) are provided. Whilst the IP around my brain model is protected, all software applications are free and guidance on setting up your own programming environment is provided.
You are welcome to explore the public areas of the Xzistor LAB website including my Blog, all the Simple Robotics Projects and the demo videos on my YouTube Channel. You can also access the areas where I provide all the guidance you will need to build your own home AI platform. In the section where I do my advanced AI projects, namely the Blue Sky Lab and the Sage’s Cave, we have started some new forums where you can post questions and provide suggestions/comments. Visit these areas of the website to gain an understanding of what my advanced projects entail. Here you can read more about the advanced AI labs and get access to my, dare I say, ‘world first’ experiments in AI.
